Kyra at Artists for Peace 30th anniversary

I'm excited to announce that I will be performing at the Artists for Peace 30th anniversary celebration on November 10th at the Lion d'Or in Montreal. The headline artists include Margie Gillis, Daniel Lavoie, Judi Richards and many more! Click here to get tickets online.

I'll be performing my song "Si," which has been selected among the "directors favorites" (an awkward translation of "coup de coeur") for the year.  I feel incredibly honored to be taking part in this event as my ultimate goal is to dedicate my music to positive transformation worldwide (lofty perhaps, but a girl's gotta dream! ).

The event will take place this November 10th at the Lion d'Or in Montreal. Doors are at 7pm, show at 8pmTickets are available here.

I found out about the organization Artists for Peace a couple of months ago. Much to my surprise (why had I not heard of them before????) this group has been going since 1984 and is the current incarnation of Artists for Nuclear disarmament, founded by artists like Harry Belafonte and Gilles Vigneault. You can read more about them on their website!

All that to say,

I feel honored and excited to be part, even in a small way, of this movement of artists dedicating their work and lives to peace in whatever ways possible.

I hope to see you there!

Manawan 2014 EP available free online!

Over one week Kyra Shaughnessy, Sakay and Pascal Ottawa and Julie Rousseau composed and recorded four original songs. The songs are now available, along with a fifth song composed by Domlebo, on an EP that is available free online. Download it now and enjoy the music!
