Primed for Prison

The cities and the suburbs that they’re building don’t have sidewalks and the

kids are all afraid to go outdoors

they take vacations to the ocean, to get away from the diseases but

the shorelines are all littered with

computer parts and syringes,

what’s your drug of choice?

And from up on the mountain I can see the whole picture there’s a

war being waged through the TV in the kitchen and the

schools that refuse to teach us our histories

are preparing an entire generation

for poverty and we’ve been

(refrain) well taught, well primed for prison they say you can

choose your cage if you’ve got

and education we’ve been

well taught, well primed for prison spend our

whole lives inside of some institution you choose,

you choose, you choose, you choose…

Better take my hand before you

cross the street and

be a good girl dont you

shuffle your feet cause there’s a

rpize in store for those determined enough to take it just don’t

ask any questions and I’m

sure you can fake it cause we’ve been

Well taught, well primed for prison (etc)

and we’ve been well taught, well primed for prison they say you can

choose your cage if you’ve got an education we’ve been

well taught , well primed for prison

spend our whole lives afraid of some institution you choose

you choose (x3)

And there’s a birhgt future possible but we’ve forgotten how to care

our hearts are all on lockdown

our hearts are all on lockdown

we’re afraid of the power to change

’cause we’ve been well taught, well primed for prison…
